Highlights:

Dan was named the 2010-2011 Photographer of the Year for the Manassas-Warrenton Camera Club, in both the Advanced Color Print and Advanced Black and White Print categories.  He had previously received this designation in 2009-2010 for Advanced Color Prints and in 2008-2009 for Advanced Black and White Prints.

”Bumble Bee on Wild Bergomot” was selected as one of the Top 250 images of the North American Nature Photography Association’s 2011 Showcase competition.  It was published in NANPA’s 2011 journal “Expressions.”

“Waterfall and Ice at Ash Cave” was selected as one of the Top Ten images of the North American Nature Photography Association’s 2009 Showcase competition.  Another image, “Battlefield Mantis,” was selected among the Top 100.  Both were on display at the 2009 NANPA Summit in Albuquerque in February 2009 and were featured on NANPA’s website during 2009.  A third image, “Red-winged Blackbird,” was one of an additional 150 runners-up.  All three images were published in NANPA’s 2009 journal “Expressions.”

“Battlefield Mantis” was a Silver Award winner in the Amateur Animals category of the first annual FotoWeekDC juried photo competition.  Another image, “Watching Over the Capitol,” received an Honorable Mention in the Spirit of DC category.  Both images were part of an exhibition of competition finalists on display in Georgetown November 15-22 2008.
